I totally feel you on how there are soo many wars going on that America does not open its pretty blue eyes to actually DOING something about and working towards being a part of the solution rather than always being soo self-interested...buttt alll i can say is that we have to start somewhere and what better place to start than with Obama...It could be worse with McCain a heartbeat away from death and poor, naiive little Palin running things...G-d bless the lady, who naiively agreed to be McCain's VP, she wasn't groomed for doing such things with her winky little self...I'm grateful she has been spared leading our country and instead will be raising her family where she is needed most...Anyways, as much as we all may be worried that Obama could be all lipservice and when he gets put under fire he could and may very well resort to business as usual in Washington...that cant negate the fact that his rise to presidency has been nothing short of shakespearean...it hasn't been historic because of the obvious fact that America for the first time in history has elected an African American president, but rather looking at Obama for the larger than life concept that he represents...he represents the possibility that the American Dream is still alive...he has inspired us to believe that anyone no matter how humble your backgrounds can achieve your dreams regardless of the mountains and volcanoes that may stand in your way...he could have been indian-american or asian american or latino american and the accomplishment would be no less significant...but yess he does happen to be african american...and east afrikan at that, which just makes my heart swell with pride :) but greater than that he has shown that he has moved the american people...and with that in mind, he has already done so much for us and he hasnt even been inaugerated into office officially yet...the best is yet to come...and as a people he has sprung up a new rebirth of hope in our hearts...and if we have any hope for our future as americans then i hope we can all be open to what only time may tell he has in store for us...because after all, why not, Obama?

Now as much as I like Obama as a person, I just feel the Democrats are a bunch of punks and JFK would be sick to his stomach to witness the manner in which they have handled not only the wars America is actively involved in but the various wars America could help squash.**********

I have to agree with you wholeheartedly. JFK was one of a kind and the more I learn about this man and his policies, his courage, his determination to the do the right thing politically, and his determination to stand up for the powerless in our society, the more I realize there will never be another like him. He died because he did the right thing. Will Obama put his life on the line for the average American? I seriously doubt it. He voted for the FISA Amendment which negated the Fourth Amendment and made the telecommunications industry another branch of the federal government. It will be business as usual in Washington.

I guess I more curious to find out who are the venture capitalist in Africa?

Currently I Kiva and am a huge fan of the micro-credit "initiative" but how do we convince an African billionaire like Aliko Dangote, Mo Ibrahim or Nicky Openheimer to distrubute funding in such a way? My father always used to tell me when an elder leads by example it has an amazingly positive effect.

Either way love your blog and thanks for sharing those tips! I think when an idea is so honest and true you never need to convince another it is a good one :)

Ah, the money question. Yes, always a problem, if you are a company looking to succeed in Africa, the tips help. For an individual, finding capital will always be very difficult. Where do you start, who do you speak to and how do you convince them it a good idea.
