Kofucius Say…

I Write What I Like

Kind blank right now…

I’m making the jump into the big boy’s world of blogging should be interesting, let’s see where this take us. I guess I will start with a little blurb I dropped on MySpace 3 years, should give you a little idea about who Kof is, I revisit this note every once in a while and it’s amazing how much I have changed but I am still the same…

You might not agree with anything I say below but I will share with you something that K-Os would refer to as a “Love Song” lalala hummmm my singing voice is now ready, so herrrrrre we go:

I am not tall, but I never really cared…I am not a pretty boy, but I do like to look nice…I used to be more eloquent with words, but now I am more direct with them…I sincerely try not use the word “nigga”, since I don’t believe in it. Some people tell me it is just a word, or even a word of empowerment (yet the word “nigger” is clearly a word of hate) whateva to me its like that saying “No matter how long a log stays in the water, it doesn’t become a crocodile”…I am not arrogrant, but I am a mix of cocky confidence haha maybe its my parent’s fault for telling me I was perfect as a youth…I am not a “nerd”, but I do love to learn…I am not the “best” student, but some people have told me I have a great mind…I do not hate or care less for other peoples, look my best friends are Indian, Colombian, Dominican, Greek, Nigerian, Korean, Ghanaian and yesss American, but I just really love my african/black peoples of this world and am not ashamed to let people know…I am not a so called revolutionary, but I am a supporter and a believer of their necessity…My belief in absolute self determination for non-Western countries, especially those in Africa does not mean I am a “militant”, I am just in compliance with Kwame Nkrumah’s belief that “It is far better to be free to govern, or misgovern, yourself than to be governed by anybody else”… In essence I am a a young man looking for the best in humanity and the best from myself and knows that in this heavy fog, Mama Africa is my beauty in the dark. So beautiful is she that those that are even convinced she is dirt, can not take their hands off her nor completely leave her in peace.

So as Babylon crumbles, and Africa silently improves, even with our inept current leaders, that are merely seat-warmers for the new wave of Africans leaders and thinkers, my questions go out to my Africans of the Diaspora, when the new battle for a truely FREE Africa occurs, whose side will you fight for? Or have you been too shamed by what you have learned about Africa to take Action? Remember people like the honorable Martin Luther King, Jr. said “In the END, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” The assute Black leaders of the past had the foresight to see that a United and Prosperous Africa was and still is the only way for the Blacks of this world to truely rise, and that big houses and fancy cars, can never be an indicator of our accession in this “Global Totem Pole”. See beyond the obvious wealth and riches that a united Africa can afford all Blacks and Africans, these wise people saw the big picture, a tree that has roots that are believed to be damaged, will always be thought of as a damaged tree. For blacks we are collectively the trees and our roots are Africa, and until we all work to fix these roots we will always be thought of as damaged.

I do not know about you, but I am ready to give my roots more water and fresh soil…my people have survived the lashes of the master’s whip, the stares of people that see us with books instead of a ball, the 41 guns shots from the NYPD and we will survive these diseases that aim to wipe us out…So I ask you are you willing to come to the water well with me?
